The EkSe Lifetime Guarantee

At EkSeHandcrafted, we build for generations. We are proud to offer a limited lifetime guarantee on the structural integrity of every board in the Collection.

1. What is Covered

We guarantee your board against delamination (glue-line failure) and structural cracking under normal culinary use. If your board splits at a joint due to a defect in our "smithing" process, we will repair or replace it free of charge.

2. The "Nature of Larch" Clause

Canadian Larch is a living, breathing material. Because it responds to the humidity and temperature of your kitchen:

 * Small seasonal movements, minor surface checks (tiny hairline cracks), or slight color changes are not defects; they are the character of slow-growth timber.

 * Warping is almost always a result of uneven moisture (e.g., wetting one side and not the other, or letting it sit in water). This is not a manufacturing defect but a maintenance issue.

3. The "Larchsmith Rules" (Voiding the Guarantee)

To maintain your guarantee, the following "Three Never Rules" must be observed:

 * Never submerge the board in water or place it in a dishwasher.

 * Never use vegetable or olive oils to season the board (these go rancid). Only use EkSe-approved food-grade mineral oil or beeswax.

 * Never store the board flat while wet. It must be dried and stood on its side or kept on its non-slip feet to allow 360-degree airflow.

4. How to Claim

Should your board fail, contact us at info@eksehandcrafted.co.uk with your Serial Number (from your Certificate of Authenticity) and a photo of the issue. We will arrange for the board to be returned to our workshop for inspection and restoration.
